About Ryan

Ryan has made his home in Alachua county for the last decade. He has been working in the Information Technology field since 1995.

Ryan started his career as a Tech Support Technician for Clubrunner Software. Clubrunner is based in Jupiter, Florida and has several hundred health club clients around the country and the world. He answered calls for support from business owners that really needed to have their systems running. Ryan also assisted in remote training where he would connect to a health club on the other side of the country and with the health club employees on speakerphone, manipulate their computer and teach them how to use the complex health club management software.

Ryan then moved on to a Technical Support/Comptuer Repair role at CTS Financial Publishing. Their Tradeworld2000.com website produced live commondity and stock data throughout the day and produced a weekly chartbook on Fridays. Ryan was responsible for the repair and maintainance of dozens of computers and printers and other specialized computer hardware. We worked here through the fiasco of Y2K, which appeared to most to not be an issue, but to those in the industry was a serious challenge that was nearly catastrophic. Telephone technical support was also a task the occupied many hours of most days.

Ryan has also spent a year as a Applications Instructor at New Horizons Computer Learning Center of the Palm Beaches. Here Ryan learned to teach subjects such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Pagemaker and many other software packages. He taught most of his classes on the New Horizons premesis, but often traveled to businesses to teach their groups of 20 or more.

The next stop in Ryan's Career was a Hardware Technician position for Purvis Gray and Co. in Gainesville, Florida. Here Ryan was tasked mainly with setup and troubleshooting of desktop and laptop computers for the accountants in the firm. He also designed portable wireless networks for use by the audiors in the field. Lastly, Ryan built servers for use by the firm to store their files and email and also kept a watchful eye on these servers for any sign of problems.

Ryan started his company Computer Service By Ryan in February on 2006 with which he is currently assisting the Gainesville community with their computer problems. Hopefully you will contact Ryan and start making your computer problems go away.
